Members of the Jones, Wolin, & O'Brien Marine Corps League Detachment 771 and associates joined the Marines of Kilo Co., Third Battalion, 25th Marines of Moundsville in celebrating the 233rd birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps. The event was held on November 22rd at Wheeling Island Hotel, Racetrack, Casino with 300 people in attendance. The guest of honor was Hershel "Woody" Williams, Medal of Honor recipient from Iwo Jima. Shown at the event are from left front, Honorary member James Dague; William Dumas, the oldest Marine present;Woody Williams, and Chaplain Dale Sigler; standing, Kilo Co. Commanding Officer Capt Brian Pell; James Coen; Commandant John Nanny; John Looney, Veterans Outreach counselor; Chief Petty Officer Joseph Fatigati; Delbert Crislip; Jamie Schubert; Scott Miller; Charles Wolf; Steve Swenton; Fred Karnes; Jack "Trapper" Glasscock; Lt. Col. David Salonika, U.S. Army; and Kilo Co. First Sgt. Rodney Carrico.

Annual Mid-East Devil Dog Growl

Plaque Given to the 52nd Chief Devil Dog from the Dogs of the WV Pack.

The Plaque was designed and produced by our own Devil Dog and Detachment Chaplain, Marine Robert "Dale" Sigler. We provided it to the West Virginia Pack Leader Bill Nelson, and Department Commandant Mike Mclain, so they could present it to the 52nd Chief Devil Dog, Laurell Hull. She visited the Mid-East Growl in Princeton, WV on 27 March 2009.


Department Of West Virginia Annual Convention



The Department of West Virginia held it's annual convention on may 8th and 9th 2009. The Convention was attended by 5 Marines of
Detachment 771. The Marines attending were (pictured from left) Commandant - John Nanny, Sr. Vice Commandant - Jim Coen,
Jr. Vice Commandant - Norm Postle, Marine Delbert Crislip, and (not in the photo) Web Sergeant - Steven Swenton.

The Devil Dog Growl was held Friday evening. During the growl, Marine Chrislip and Marine Swenton were
inducted into the Military Order of the Devil Dogs along with members from other detachments.





The annual Department meeting was held on Saturday, May 9th. During the election of Officers, Marine John Nanny
was elected to the position of Senior Vice Commandant of the Department of West Virginia.





Detachment 771 presented a plaque to Detachment 340, Huntington, WV.
The Plaque was designed and produced by Detachment 771 Chaplain, Marine Robert "Dale" Sigler.
